This photo of my grandpa, Gus Bursik (standing just right of the white-suited fellow), was taken after a flight with one of the first corporate aircraft owned by John G. Morrell & Company, a famous meatpacker. Gus Bursik operated a grocery store and meatlocker for over 50 years in Geddes, South Dakota, and purchased from Morrell Company. On the occasion of the first visit by air of Morrell's Pride to the Sioux Falls, South Dakota area, my grandfather was asked to come along. This portrait was taken at the Sioux Falls Airport, shortly after landing. The date of the photo is May 1931.
