This vault simulates a manhole which might contain Underground Residential Distribution feeder circuits, pot-heads, cable terminations and other apparatus. Not all power system apparatus is above ground on poles. Other equipment is direct buried or placed in vaults underground. This particular vault on campus is used for lineman rescue techniques in the case of accidents or simulated conditions of a hazardous nature.
