This former transposition pole of the linewrecked Council Bluffs-Sioux City, Iowa AT&T Toll Lead remained near Loveland, Iowa supporting a cable and drops until the late 1980s, when it, too, was removed. An underground cable was placed in a trench and the overhead cable, poles and openwire artifacts removed. Today, this scene is one of a highway and trees, nothing more. Note the transposition pole had phantom and drop brackets and was more heavily built because of its crossing the old U. S. 75 highway. This scene is looking towards Missouri Valley, Iowa, which is a scant five miles away.
